Book Design on Witness for Carlton Books, now known as Headline at Hachette, is an international company producing beautifully illustrated books for adults and children, specialising in popular topics, including entertainment, history, sport, arts, lifestyle, puzzles and pastimes.

Working closely with the picture team at Carlton Books, I designed Witness, a photography book that captures all aspects of human emotion, drama, and tragedy. Witness features powerful, stirring images from the world’s greatest photojournalists and provides a history of the medium. Starting with key figures such as Roger Fenton, who photographed the Crimean War with a large-format camera, it moves through the decades, covering defining events in history from the Great Depression to space missions, the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the Iraq War.
